Where Tech and German Engineering meet: Innolution Valley Conference in Stuttgart

I had the privilege to participate at the innolution valley conference in the economic powerhouse of Germany: Stuttgart. Besides my talk on “Innovate or Die” I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of VCs, corporate innovators and start-ups from the region. For over 100 years the area of state of Baden-Württemberg has been quite known for its engineering driven innovation.  No surprise that a lot of famous German traditional tech companies – such as Bosch, Siemens, Daimler and many more – originate from this region.

Looking at the start-up scene here, it seems that a lot combine the engineering talents of the region with exciting digital technology. I would not be surprised if we would see a lot of Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) start-ups and maybe even a unicorn will come from here.

The innolution valley conference did not only impress by it’s perfect organization and tech-engineering focus but a lot of pleasant hacks – free drinks and food, a bright and nice networking area – and a shuttle service sponsored by Jaguar. I believe the innolution valley conference is one of the few start-up meet corporate conferences that offer you a ride to the airport with a Jag!

I specially thank Markus and Sabine Elsässer that not only manage the renown blog startupvalley news and the print magazine startupvalley but provide an important platform for the South German digital-tech-engineering ecosystem. Make sure to check it out next time.
