On Monday October 2nd Debbie Kidman and Samera Owusu Tutu, known as the organizers of the Dubai World Insurance Congress, invited c-suites from around the region to a closed door conference at the Four Seasons Ressort in Dubai: The Global (Re-) Insurance Innovation & Insurtech Event.
I had the privilege to hold a talk about: “Evolve or Die – How to avoid the fate of Kodak, Nokia and others.” The discussion with experts in the audience, senior management and entrepreneurs was open, lively and very insightful. I also was happy to participate at a panel discussion with Dr. Manuel Natusch, Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Prudential insurance and industry expert Nameer Khan.
I was very impressed by the talks of Salmaan Jaffery on innovation in Dubai and their plan for the future, Michael Natusch on AI at Prudential, Nektarios Liolios on the Startupbootcamp-Universe, Ali Ashgar on Insurtech and Specialty Insurance, Franciose Lamotte about innovation at MetLife, Kamal Hassan on Venture Capital and early stage investments in the region. I also enjoyed the panel of John Barlow and Pritesh B. Kotecha. I am also happy to now more about Democrance, which was presented by it’s founder and CEO Michael Grosso.
Besides the exciting talks, panels and insightful discussions I was deeply impressed by an outstanding organization and a very special and open atmosphere with experts and managers from the region. If possible I will be definitively be back. If you think about participating at an insurtech event in MENA in general or the Dubai World Insurance Congress make sure to drop by.
